Grateful Lynne Saw Edith

Edith brought “Lynne an iced vanilla latte & lemon bread. She greeted me with a smile. Laughed a few times. Quiet. She sipped a latte but it was an effort to drink through the straw. These are my pictures.” I’m glad Lynne saw Edith Tags: Alzheimer’s Dementia Caregiver Caregiving father-daughter

Not To Be Force-fed

Lynne lost 6 pounds in 2 months. She eats or resists food. She did/does not want to be force fed. Our family, hospice & QP agree. She walks less, is still strong, welcomes visitors, & may be kind, mad, funny, irritated, etc. I love her as always

Myoclonus: Common After Epilepsy

Lynne has myoclonus, an involuntary, brief movement of arms over her head. They followed Lynne’s 2 epileptic seizures in 2021. Mild medication has only eliminated epilepsy. I hold her arms when I give her a drink.

Hospice Plays Christmas Songs

Completely free clipart of a group of christmas carolers

Why we love hospice & Samantha: I played old Christmas songs for Lynne. She was happy to see me, mostly in good mood. Alert the whole time. I showed her Facebook photos of you & Karen. She’s thin but still strong. Tags: Alzheimer’s Dementia Caregiver Caregiving father-daughter

Lynne Smiles, Adores Lynne

Carol greeted Lynne by kissing her hands. Lynne grinned. She kept gazing into Carol eyes & never stirred. Lynne listened, laughed, talked, & even made Carol laugh. Lynne ignored me and & looked like she adored Carol. I can easily live with her adoration of Carol. Tags: Alzheimer’s Dementia Caregiver Caregiving father-daughter

Gorgeous Smile Awesome Spirit

My daughter’s gorgeous smile comes from an awesome spirit so genuine it moved LynnR to exclaim, “No one makes me feel so happy to see me.” That spirit continuously draws me back to be with her. Tags: Alzheimer’s Dementia Caregiver Caregiving father-daughter

Sharing Our Alzheimer’s Stories

Carol & I presented 3 Alzheimer’s courses to 5 campuses of Wesley Living via Wesley Living’s Zoom University: Is It Happening to Me; When Memories Have Slipped; and How Can I Help My Friends & Neighbors? The first class we presented.

The Director for Wesley U. said: You & Carol were well prepared & presented beautifully. Sharing your personal stories made the topic relatable. The conversational style worked great. Emails from residents at all our Wesley communities stated they found your presentations helpful

Sharing An Anniversary Memoriam

Every anniversay I wear my wedding ring as a memoriam to Karen

60 years ago yesterday I was awed when Karen wanted to slip this wedding band on my finger. Lynne tickled me as she watched & responded while I talked about Mom, Lynne and Dad. Lynne heard Pam say, “Hi Ninny.” Tags: Alzheimer’s Dementia Caregiver Caregiving father-daughter

Simples Pleasures Great Visits

Lynne reached up. Smiled. “Hi, it’s Dad.” She nodded, “I know.” Nodded at photo of Patti’s visit on Sunday. Brushed her hair. She stayed still, feeling it. Gave her lip balm. I said, Bye, love you! She replied, You, too. Tags: Alzheimer’s Dementia Caregiver Caregiving father-daughter
